| It is important that you nourish your relationship as much as your nourish your unborn child during pregnancy. Most women find that their bodies grow large and unwieldy during pregnancy. Many women are surprised to find that their sex drive actually increases during pregnancy, particularly during the second trimester. This is due to the increased amount of blood that is coursing through your pelvis and vagina. Is Sex Safe During Pregnancy? Sex is safe during pregnancy provided you have a low risk pregnancy with few complications. Your doctor will let you know if you should avoid sex for any reason at all. Most women can enjoy a healthy and fulfilling intimate relationship throughout their pregnancy, right up until their delivery date. Will I Enjoy Sex During Pregnancy? Surprisingly, many women find that they are more sexually aroused during their second trimester than they were prior to pregnancy. The increased blood flow to the vaginal and a womans growing bosom often results in a heightened sense of self and sexual arousal. Most women will shy away from sexual relations during their first trimester when morning sickness and fatigue often get in the way of love making. During the third trimester, some women find themselves uncomfortably large and prefer not to be intimate, whereas others continue having intercourse right up until they go into labor. Will Sex Hurt the Baby? One of the most common concerns of fathers to be is that sex will hurt the baby. Some men are afraid that they will bump into the baby when they have sex. By and large however this concern is unfounded. If your husband is overly concerned about having sex during pregnancy, have him join you at your prenatal visits. A little reassurance from your physician that he will not hurt or bump into the baby may be all your husband needs. Partners often react very individually when it comes to sex and pregnancy. While some men find the site of their wifes blossoming body a true turn on, others are ambivalent or even a little turned off by pregnancy. It is important that you are open, honest and communicative with your partner about your needs during pregnancy, and try not to take any emotions your partner may be feeling personally. Remember that pregnancy is often an emotional roller coaster, and your husband or partner may be more concerned that you might react differently, or may be scared of the idea of having a family in general. Some men have a difficult time being intimate with their wives even when they recognize that they will not harm the baby, because they feel another presence is in the room. That said, many men and women have remarkable sexual relationships throughout their pregnancy. Even if you do not engage in intercourse with your husband, it is important that the two of you work on nurturing your relationship throughout your pregnancy. Foot rubs, kissing, back rubs and holding hands are all excellent ways to share some intimacy without actually engaging in intercourse. The best way you can ensure that you and your partner remain close during your pregnancy is to check in with your partner on occasion. Inform them of your needs, let them know where you are coming from and what you need or want from them. Positioning If you and your partner are interested in maintaining a healthy sexual relationship during pregnancy, then undoubtedly you must be wondering what positions will work best for you as your belly grows and expands. The best thing you can do during your pregnancy is keep an open mind and be creative. Most women will find that it is uncomfortable to enjoy sex in a missionary position after about the first or mid second trimester. Try flipping over, woman on top and even lying next to one another during your pregnancy. Hormone Therapy for Women with Acne by: Naweko San-Joyz
| More frequently women are combating acne and wrinkles simultaneously. Its a hideous fight wrought with mysterious hormone signals and an even more baffling search for a cure. Acne does not go away with age Dr. Alan R. Shalita, who co-authored "The Effect of the Menstrual Cycle on Acne," found that contrary to the adage that, Youll grow out of acne, premenstrual acne only seems to get worse with age. This study examined a group of 400 women ages 12 to 52. The investigators observed that 53 percent of women over age 33 experienced a higher rate of premenstrual acne than women under age 20-- who only reported a 39 percent increase in premenstrual acne. Dermatologist Diane Thiboutot, MD, associate professor of medicine at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center , Hershey , Pa. , proposes to clarify acne treatment options for women. Dr. Thiboutot explains that control of acne is an ongoing process and that all acne treatments work by preventing new acne. While most women suffering from adult acne seek standard treatments such as topical preparations or antibiotics, 60 percent of these femmes either do not respond to standard acne treatments or build up a tolerance to frequently prescribed medications such as antibiotics. Causes of Adult Acne It is not yet known exactly what causes adult acne, but several dermatologist like Dr. Alan R. Shalita, link adult acne to hormone fluctuations. Acne in a woman is often linked to her menstrual cycle. Women with premenstrual acne outbreaks, such as pimples on the lower face and neck, seem to respond particularly well to treatment with medications that either reduce or block androgen production. Androgen hormones create male traits in women such as a deepening of the voice, an increased libido or hirsutism that causes excessive or abnormal growth of hair. They also stimulate the oil glands. The oil mixes with skin cells and bacteria, causing inflammation in the skin that can result in the arrival of zits. What to Know Before Your Begin Hormone Therapy for Acne Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Before you begin a hormone treatment for acne, you should confirm that you are not suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome, or PCOS. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, worldwide, about 15% of the women of reproductive age have PCOS. Polycystic ovary syndrome is a hormonal imbalanced characterized by irregular menstruation, obesity, infertility, acne and hair growth on the face, chest, and back (hirsutism). Like acne, PCOS is caused by an imbalance in androgen hormones. Dermatologists should work closely with your gynecologist to reduce the risks of infertility, cardiovascular disease and insulin-resistant diabetes. Before your dermatologist prescribes hormone therapy, she may perform a standard screening that includes two hormones - testosterone and DHEAS (dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate). It is important that you stop taking oral contraceptives for at least one month before any tests are performed because birth control pills can suppress androgens. Acne Hormone Treatment Options Dr. Diane Berson, MD, a clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Dermatology, New York University , New York states that once a woman is diagnosed with hormonal acne, treatment options include oral contraceptive pills, corticosteroids and spironolactone. These treatments act by decreasing sebum production. Oral Contraceptive Pill The oral contraceptive pill, OCP, is the keystone of hormonal therapy. The OCPs most successfully employed in controlling acne contain a hormone called progestin, which has low androgenic activity, combined with 35 micrograms of ethinyl estradiol, an estrogen. You can find generic forms of this pill under names such as norgestimate or desogestrel. Oral Corticosteroids Oral corticosteroids, such as prednisone and dexamethasone may help improve acne by decreasing androgen production in the adrenal gland. Oral Spironolactone Oral spironolactone is a steroidal antiandrogen that prevents excessive oil production by blocking androgen receptors. Additionally, spironolactone decreases androgen production in both the ovaries and adrenal glands, resulting in fewer acne flare-ups. Doctors usually prescribe oral contraceptives with spironolactone to reduce spironolactones side effects of breast tenderness and menstrual irregularities. Risk Factors with Hormone Therapy Dr. Thiboutot counsels, "As with any therapy, there are risks and rewards. The risks of hormonal therapy require regular breast and pelvic exams to guard against the increased risk of certain types of cancers. It is vitally important that dermatologists work with the patient's gynecologist to determine the most appropriate treatment and follow-up especially in women over the age of 40 or those who might be smokers". Female Self Pleasuring Tips For The Adventurous Woman by: E. J. Davis
| Unlike men, whose sex organs are available for self pleasure by stroking and stimulating any time of the day, women have to contrive to entice their clitoris out of hiding and available for pleasuring. One of the most common female self pleasuring tips is the use of sex toys and gadgets. Luckily for us, female self pleasure toys can be found in our very own kitchen. Sure, jokes have been made about this, but its true. The usual suspects here are any penis-like vegetables and fruits, like carrots, cucumbers or zucchinis. Bananas are too soft to do the trick. Sometimes, un-penis-like fruits and vegetables can create another type of female self pleasure as a form of taste aphrodisiac: cherries, grapes, or sections of oranges. Feel free to use different female self pleasure techniques to enhance your arousal. Inserting any of the penis-like items inside your vulva, as you would a dildo will add to your self pleasure. As a female self pleasure technique, the use of fruits and vegetables has a lot going for it: It will not endanger you physically, in contrast to, for example, using a bottle, which might break inside you, or, a piece of wood, which might splinter--ouch! I am not sure that anyone has ever used an open bottle for this purpose, but it is worth cautioning all women against it: An open bottle will form a-suction inside you and it would be quite impossible to remove it without the embarrassment of explaining to a doctor why you are depositing strange objects inside your vagina. After youve pleasured yourself with just about everything you can from your fridge, you might want to try a dildo. Dildos have been manufactured to be sold and used especially for female self pleasuring. They were not merely created to aid men in their sexual fantasies when they watch all those erotic movies. Erotic movies, however, are very informative when it comes to learning how to use dildos. Use a dildo to massage your clitoris and slide it in and out and around your vagina. Even better are the men, who possess the lingual skillfulness similar to a dildo but more importantly, they are selfless enough to aspire to that ability. Either way, these great female self pleasuring techniques will open up a whole new world of female self pleasuring ideas. Copyright 2005 E.J. Davis About the author: E.J. Female Hair Loss: once a mystery by: Hairy Lighty
| During some time, people used to believe that female hair loss was related to heredity. Since this condition has been a nightmare for many women, the Medicine started to study this case and the revelations are amazing. In spite of what people used to think, female hair loss is not ONLY related to heredity. In fact, this is a secondary factor. The causes of female hair loss are a little bit more complicated than the causes related to mens hair loss. Women in general experience hair loss due to stress, drug therapies and menopause. Although the first two factors mentioned here are also related to hair loss in men, they are more frequent in women. In general, women tend to be more concerned about the daily life than men. This increases the level of stress and one of its manifestations in the female organism is the hair loss. In this case, the treatment should not only stimulate hair growth, but also treat stress. Otherwise, even if hair growth is stimulated, hair loss can occur again. The use of drug for therapy is a complicated issue. Hair loss due to this is frequent in the treatment against cancer. The drugs used in chemotherapy are too aggressive and hair loss may be the slight side effect. Menopause is another problem. Besides all the unbalance in the organism that it causes, menopause can cause hair loss as an indirect consequence of it. In addition to that, other factor is related to hair loss in female. Since female use to dye their hair more frequent than men. The dye used may provoke some reactions. And these reactions in long-term may cause hair loss. Although some people advise about that, this is highly ignored by women. When they start dying their hair, they are worried about being pretty and dont care about the possibility of experiencing hair loss. Although all these and although it seems hopeless, there are some things women can do in order to help hair loss. www.female-hair-loss-secrets.info About the author: Hairy Lighty www.female-hair-loss-secrets.info |
Female Hair Loss: Finding A Hair Loss Solution by: Kathlene Capelle
| As a female, if you are facing thinning and losing hair, you are probably pretty stressed by it. However, you will not be worrying and causing more hair to drop once you understand some facts about female hair loss. You see, in many cases, female hair loss is just a temporary occurance and hence, finding a hair loss solution to it is relatively easy. Androgenetic alopecia is the hereditary form of baldness that affects 50 percent of men, and some women after 40. Female hair loss usually starts after menopause although it can begin earlier. The main reason for this is that estrogen levels decline. Hormonal changes cause hair to thin. It is comforting to note that other than androgenetic alopecia, the most common cause of hair loss in women, is a result of metabolic and hormonal changes. Thus, the hair loss is usually temporary. Also, unlike men, women rarely become totally bald. However, what females generally experience is the thinning of their hair. For example, in the case of pregnancy, hair loss is temporary and should stop about 6 months after birth. When a woman is pregnant, a large amount of oestrogen is produced causing the hair follicles to go into their growth phase. Once the baby is born, the womans hormonal balance is restored. The reverse now happens with the hair follicles going into a hair loss phase. While nothing much can be done to prevent hair loss during this period, applying hair tonic to hasten hair re-growth can be a helpful solution. Crash diets leading to rapid weight loss over a short period of time prompts excessive hair loss. Physical and emotional stress can cause hair loss but this usually only occurs after a prolonged period of time and in extreme cases. Once stress levels are restored to normal levels, hair loss should stop. Thus, a good hair loss solution is to find ways to reduce stress! Certain drugs can also cause hair to shed. The most common medical treatment that causes hair loss is chemotherapy. The drug medication attacks the hair cells, causing hair loss from the scalp. Certain prescription drugs (for thyroid hormone deficiency, diabetes and lupus) and dieting supplements are also causes of hair loss. Once these drug medications are stopped, the hair loss problem should disappear. Other stresses to the hair may include frequent dyeing and chemicals eg. perming solutions applied to the hair. Generally, healthy hair can undergo these treatments without showing signs of stress, if they are not done too often. But if hair is not allowed a chance to recover from the constant application of hair chemicals, then it becomes brittle and starts to break off. Hair loss treatment products to help strengthen the follicles should help when applied to the scalp. Once you understand what is happening to your hair, then seek out the right hair loss solution. In most cases, if the cause is temporary, then you can be assured that your problem will pass with the right remedy actions. However, for the more serious cases, do seek the professional help of a licensed dermatologist for a complete diagnosis and treatment plan. End Hormone-Replacement Therapy Confusion by: John Dawson
| Women CAN fight aging: feel forever young, healthy and feminine What do women want as they get older? They want to retain the wisdom of their years, but they certainly dont want to look, or feel, old. Fortunately there are natural ways for women to treat menopause and the health challenges that accompany aging. The years may pass, but you can still feel and look young, healthy and vital. End hormone-replacement therapy confusion For years, some women looked on hormone-replacement therapy (HRT) as a panacea for aging. They took HRT not only for uncomfortable symptoms like hot flushes, irritability, and insomnia, but also as a preventative to help protect themselves from diseases like heart disease, stroke, and even Alzheimer's. Then the "HRT risk" studies began to appear. If you've been to see your doctor lately, you'll find that the doctor is as confused as you are. It seems that HRT is not the ultimate solution that women hoped for, and may even cause the very problems women were hoping to avoid. Some women decided that they could face the risks and stayed with hormone treatment. Some women stopped taking HRT and sought other solutions instead: natural remedies. Researchers believe that going the natural route is better for women's health, because each woman experiences menopause in her own way. Some women have no symptoms. Others have both physical and emotional symptoms that make their lives a misery. Stay forever young with Goldshield Elite anti-aging products for women Goldshield Elite has a full range of products to help women to look and feel young, and to improve their general health and well-being. Cellulite: The Biggest Female Epidemic by: Beth Scott
| Cellulite is probably one of the most embarrassing of all physical faults that women have. Cellulite isnt just a problem with the obese or overweight either. Normal sized and even skinny women suffer from cellulite as well! It has been surveyed that 90% of ALL women have cellulite somewhere on their bodies. That leaves only a small 10% who are actually free from this problem. Now before you start hating those womens guts for being so lucky, you should ask yourself what you can do to get rid of your cellulite so that you will be a part of that 10%. Eventually as enough women begin to solve this cellulite problem and rid themselves of cellulite, the 10% who are free from cellulite will grow to 15% and the 90% who suffer from cellulite will decrease to 85%, and on and on. You little knew that ridding yourself of cellulite and helping your friends and family to do the same could have such a momentous effect, did you? Everyone thinks dimples are adorable, but thats only when theyre on your face. They dont look quite so cute when theyre on your thighs, hips or any of the many other places of which we women are cellulite prone. What help is there for my cellulite? You might ask. Thats a good question since there are so many different claims about products and treatments that will supposedly Diminish Cellulite In 10 Days! or whatever claim they put out. What woman wouldnt want to try these just to see if they would work for her? But sadly in most cases youll be throwing your time and money away on these false or misleading claims that will not help cellulite but will only drain your bank account. There are a lot of real things you can do to help rid yourself of cellulite. Proactive things that dont involve liposuction, or having your thighs vacuumed over. Here are 4 of the main ways to combat cellulite: 1. Exercises which target certain areas with cellulite help a great deal. 2. Eating a properly balanced diet is tremendously successful in clearing the toxins and fatty tissue from your body that result in cellulite. 3. Even massages and saunas have been proven to help since they aid in the elimination process, which clears fatty build up, and in turn clears cellulite. 4. Drinking more water also helps with elimination and cleansing your system from cellulite. So be sure to get your 6-8 glasses each and every day. Its also an interesting fact to know that men dont get cellulite. Even when they get obese or fat. Their fat deposits are structured differently than ours so the skin doesnt dimple when they get bigger, causing cellulite, as it does with women. This of course is a relief to women everywhere because no woman wants a man who has the same physical defect she herself suffers from and hates so passionately. So there you have it. Try the above listed methods to naturally help diminish your cellulite and become one of those lucky 10%. About the author: Is cellulite making YOU miserable? Body Hair Removal: Solutions For Today by: Sam Natarajan
| As we as a race become increasingly conscious of the way others look at us and not just the way, we look at ourselves, personal grooming has never been more important. And top of the list for many men and women today is to gain a superior attractive quality by getting rid of unwanted body hair. Be it facial hair removal for women, or back hair removal for men, quick hair removal treatments have fast gained in popularity with the masses. As your search continues for the treatment best suited for you, we have tried to put together a concise set of hair removal solutions available in the market today for your benefit. The commonest form of quick hair removal today is shaving, which as the name suggests is the simple application of a razor blade, either manually or electrically on the skin surface to remove the hair by cutting the hair stem. While it's a quick painless hair removal method which is effective, it lasts only for very short bursts of time and can never be termed a permanent hair removal solution. Still for people short on time and low on cash, shaving still promises to be an affordable practical solution. For the slightly advanced enthusiast, depilatory creams are a good bet to do facial hair removal and leg hair removal. These creams effect quick hair removal through surface chemical reactions with the protein in your hair, breaking it down and making it easy to come off. Available in a variety of forms such as gels and aerosols and typically calcium-compound based, this treatment offers a solution which however is not a permanent hair removal method. Of course, if you are a girl, you have probably gone through the painful procedure of waxing for body hair removal especially for hands and legs hair removal. Tweezing like waxing works by plucking the hair out of the skin right from its root s, thereby giving a hairless skin which can last for several weeks until the roots of the hair grow back. Electrolysis for hair removal on the other hand works on the principle of destabilizing the hair roots through surface electrical currents charged through electrodes implanted in the skin. While the effect of electrolysis hair removal is long standing in nature, frequent sessions and a serious dent on your bank balance are realistic possibilities that you need to keep in mind. The best hair removal method available today is laser hair removal for men and women alike. This treatment is swift, precise, painless hair removal technique which normally guarantees an extended period of freedom from unwanted hair. In just a few sessions, whether it is facial hair removal or back hair removal, the laser technology effectively answers all your needs and desires for looking your personal best! Visit your local salon or contact your beautician for understanding which of these hair removal treatments would work best for you. All the best to looking good and feeling great!! Bad Girls: Lets Be Honest Ladies, Arent You Only Into Him BECAUSE Hes NOT Into You? by: Michelle Langley
| The authors left out one very important piece of the puzzle in their bestselling book Hes Just Not That Into You. Deep down every female knows what that little piece of the puzzle is. Our perception and our reality are worlds apart when it comes to relationships today. Although our reality has drastically changed our perception continues to remain the same. The tired but lingering perception still holds men responsible for the majority of problems experienced in relationships; which is not to say that women are unwilling to take a little responsibility. Women often blame themselves for giving and loving too much. Interestingly enough, females tend to only give and love too much when they are involved with males that treat them badly or at the least males that show them little interest. Could it be that females continue to love males like this because it is simply in their nature to be giving and nurturing, or could it simply be that females love a challenge? If you are a male reader, you probably suspect its the latter. Although, if you are a female reader, you know its the latter. Females chase after commitment in the same way that males have always chased after sex. Males often lose interest in females after they get them into bed and females often lose interest in males after they get them to commit thats the reality, but its certainly not the perception that most people have about women. Why? Because it doesnt fit the males are bad and females are good stereotype to which we have become so accustomed. The females who claim to love too much are the equivalent of males who will say or do anything to get a female into bed. These females will put up with anything and will do almost anything to accomplish their goal getting a man into a commitment. However, once they have garnered their commitment they usually become bored and resentful. Eventually, after finding a reason to blame the men for their unhappiness (i.e. boredom) they move on to their next conquest. This is the commitment game its the female version of pursue and discard. I found it interesting, having interviewed more than two hundred people as well as having recently written a book about females, to hear that large numbers of women were ending their relationships as a result of reading Hes Just Not That Into You. Interesting, because I knew from my research that these women were most likely ending their relationships for the same reason they had stayed in them; they viewed the men they were seeing as a challenge. I was curious, so I set out to find out what was really behind the apparent phenomenon. I wanted to know why women were really ending their relationships after their encounter with that little book weve all heard so much about. I discovered that the books directness made it difficult, if not impossible, for women to continue to rationalize their boyfriends behavior once they had read it; there was nothing left for the women to analyze or to talk about with their friends. They no longer needed to try and figure out what their boyfriends were thinking, or spend time wondering about where their relationship was going. The need for discussing, analyzing, hoping and longing had all been eliminated. As a result, many women ended their relationships. They had mistakenly believed that the men in their lives were complicated and mysterious, or in other words, a challenge; instead, they found out their boyfriends behavior was categorically identifiable and even predictable. However, what must not be overlooked is the fact that it was the apparent cookie cutter behavior of men, meaning the mens loss of mystery, which caused the women to end their relationships. It was obviously not due to the way men were treating them; otherwise women would have ended their relationships prior to reading the book. So, it seems women are ending their relationships after reading the book for the same reason they often ended them prior to reading it they think the men in their lives are boring. One of the co-authors of Hes Just Not That Into You has co-written a new book, titled Its Called a Break Up Because Its Broken. Even without reading the sub-title, one could easily assume that the book is intended to help women deal with the difficulty and aftermath of a break-up. One could assume this due to the books cover which prominently displays a container of ice cream. It will be interesting to see if this new book will sweep the nation too; although, I must say, I dont think it will. The reason is due to a little known fact: it is women, not men who end the majority of relationships. I know what your preconditioned mind must be thinking. You must be thinking well, women wouldnt be ending the majority of relationships if it werent for mens bad behavior. But this isnt necessarily the case. Growing apart is actually one of the most common reasons cited by women for ending their relationships and during my research, the reason most frequently given by women for ending or wanting to end their relationship was my husband/boyfriend is boring. Bearing this in mind, one has to wonder why the new break-up book doesnt have a big, frosty beer on its cover. The answer to that one is probably pretty simple: A) As a society we keep womens bad behavior a secret; trust me, if it had been Hillary instead of Bill you would have never been the wiser. B) Women buy a lot more books than men. These types of books are obviously intended to empower women. However, I believe the opposite is true. Women will never be empowered by the medias false bravado which is constantly being used to feed their egos and somehow make up for their past oppression. Women will only become truly empowered when they own the dark side of their nature. When they are held accountable and take responsibility for their own bad behavior as well as the harm they often inflict onto others. In our culture men have been reduced to nothing more than their animal nature, while women on the other hand, are still somehow separated from theirs. The devil and the angel, so to speak, live inside every human being. Females are in no way excluded from this fact of human nature. At some point in history, many societies assigned and deemed certain characteristics and behaviors natural, meaning acceptable, for each of the sexes. To this day, people are inundated with these same exaggerated and fictitious images of male and female behavior. Women, as well as men, have been sliced down the middle able to own only part of who they are. In order for females to achieve real equality and to stop being their own oppressors they are going to have to acknowledge, as well as take responsibility for, the disrespectful way in which they often treat males. In truth, women are just as often the villains as they are the victims. Acknowledging and accepting this fact is the only way for women to truly become whole. This process may require women to ask themselves some pretty tough questions which they undoubtedly will not like the answers to. Questions such as: How many guys have I blown off? How many times have I not returned a guys phone call? How many times have I lied to a guy? How many times have I cheated on a guy? How many times have I strung a guy along? How many times have I used a guy for his money? How many times have I used a guy for attention? How many times have I used a guy for sex? Females regularly do all of these things and more. Whats more, they typically do them to males who really like them and are trying to treat them well. Unfortunately, the nice guys are often viewed, as willing willing to commit, which translated into male terms means an easy lay. Women didnt need to read a book from a mans perspective in order for them to understand and gain insight into male behavior, all they needed to do was ask themselves why they treat some males in the same way that they often complain about being treated.. And of course, without any hesitation an answer quite similar to the title of that little book would roll right off every womans tongue ─ Im just not that into him. 34 Menopause Symptoms - Are You Suffering From One Or More Of These? by: Olinda Rola
| 34 menopause symptoms? Really? It is a logical question to ask. After all, millions of women are experiencing one or more of the 34 menopause symptoms right now! What is going on? We all remember a grandmother or older aunt, how they made the transition into menopause. The so-called change will happen, but something tells us that experiencing many of the symptoms of menopause as early as ages thirties or forties is not normal. First, here is a list of the most common 34 menopause symptoms. Take a moment to consider each one, as some are subtle and at first glance may appear to have no relation to being menopause symptoms: 1 - Aching joints and muscles 2 - Allergy symptoms 3 - Breast tenderness 4 - Chronic fatigue and morning sluggishness 5 - Cold or tingling hands or feet 6 - Craving sweets, caffeine, carbohydrates and unstable blood sugar levels 7 - Depression, anxiety and mood swings 8 - Dizziness, lightheadedness 9 - Dry, thin or wrinkly skin 10 - Endometriosis 11 - Facial hair growth 12 - Fibrocystic breasts 13 - Hair loss, thinning hair 14 - Headaches, migraines 15 - Heart palpitations 16 - Heavy or light periods 17 - Hot flashes 18 - Incontinence 19 - Irregular periods 20 - Irritatibility, inability to handle stress 21 - Lack of concentration, foggy fuzzy thinking, memory lapses 22 - Leg cramps 23 - Low metabolism 24 - Lower sex drive, loss of sex drive 25 - PMS and menstrual cramping 26 - Night sweats 27 - Osteoporosis 28 - Ringing or buzzing in ears (tinnitus) 29 - Sleep disturbances, insomnia 30 - Spotting, light bleeding 31 - Symptoms of hypothyroidism with normal T3 and T4 levels 32 - Uninary tract and yeast infections 33 - Uterine fibroids 34 - Water retention and unexplained weight gain, especially in hips, waist and stomach Menopause is a natural process for a woman, not an illness. As a woman ages, there will be an expected slowing and ultimately shutdown in the reproductive cycle and system. This is normal. However, most of the 34 menopause symptoms are indications of underlying hormonal imbalance or damage to the body from poor eating habits, stress, obesity and other factors. Millions of women in the industrialized countries experience one or more of these 34 menopause symptoms many years before the normal age of menopause, which is about 51 years of age. Why? There are several reasons. Women often put tremendous demands on their bodies, much more stress than it was designed to handle, and then do not give it the support it needs. Women have demanding and stressful careers. There are family responsibilities. The relationship with the spouse or partner may not be the best. Aging parents can add to the burden. All of these and other responsibilities are cumulative in the toll they take on the body and health of a woman. And at the same time, the womans body may not be receiving the support it needs to function as it was designed to do. Poor eating habits, lack of exercise, obesity, excess caffeine and alcohol add to the problem instead of helping the body cope with the demands placed on it. This lack of balance between the demands made versus support given contributes to many of the 34 menopause symptoms. Then there is the issue of the menstrual cycle and hormone production in the body. In the normal menstrual cycle and a healthy woman, estrogen is the dominant hormone that is produced for the first 10-12 days following the previous menstrual flow. If ovulation occurs, ovulation then signals the female body to produce progesterone, which happens for the next 12 days or so. If pregnancy does not occur during ovulation, progesterone and estrogen levels will drop at around day 28, allowing menstruation to begin. However, if you do not ovulate, you will not produce progesterone that month. This event, called an annovulatory cycle, is a typical occurance today for women even 10 to 20 years before the normal age of menopause. This leaves the woman with an excess of estrogen and a deficiency of the vital hormone progesterone which can only be produced if ovulation occurs. Many women in their thirties or forties are actually having fewer ovulations, creating hormone imbalance, resulting in many of the 34 menopause symptoms. And once ovulation ceases at menopause, progesterone levels fall to virtually zero. At the same time, estrogen is still being produced, again leading to hormone imbalance and the resulting symptoms. If a hysterectomy has happened, surgical menopause means the woman no longer produces progesterone. Besides the problems created by missed ovulations or hysterectomy, excess estrogen is regularly obtained from other sources. Birth control pills, household chemicals and pesticides, certain foods that have been sprayed or given chemicals and many construction materials used in homes are all sources of unhealthy estrogen. Doctors call this hormone imbalance condition where excess estrogen exists - estrogen dominance. What are the symptoms of estrogen dominance? The symptoms are nearly the same as the 34 menopause symptoms! When your estrogen and progesterone hormones are balanced, you feel more alert and energetic. And balancing family, career, stress and your own needs becomes much easier to do, like it was when you were younger. How can a woman tell if the symptoms being experienced are because of hormone imbalance? One easy and effective way is to take an online test for early signs of menopause and the 34 menopause symptoms. Used daily in their practice by a leading womens health clinic, the health test takes just a few minutes online and the test is free. | Everyone knows that exercise is good for your health. Exercising during pregnancy can have additional benefits. Generally, exercise should be light, especially during the first few weeks of pregnancy while your body adjusts to the changes. Heavy exercise can divert blood flow from crucial areas and most women that exercise regularly should tone down their workouts during pregnancy. Walking, swimming, and yoga are two popular exercise activities suitable for pregnant women. Other forms of exercise like weight lifting are okay too as long as it is not too strenuous. Most experts recommend exercising 3-4 times a week, unless a medical condition prevents it. If in doubt, always consult a physician first. Listed below are some of the top reasons for exercising during pregnancy. 1. Exercise can reduce the length of labor and reduce recovery times. The right exercise routines will increase stamina needed for delivery. 2. Improve emotional health - exercise lowers stress and improves emotional health and can make it easier for the new mother to get through the experience of pregnancy. 3. Exercise can help with weight management after the child is born. A common concern with most mothers is losing weight after pregnancy. Exercising during pregnancy can make postpartum weight loss easier. 4. Exercise is good for your unborn baby. By keeping your body healthy, you are also helping out your baby. 5. Reduced pregnancy side effects - Symptoms like headaches, fatigue, swelling, and constipation are common in pregnant women. Exercising has been shown to reduce the occurence of these symptoms. 6. Decrease risk of premature birth - exercise has been shown in studies to decrease the risk of premature birth by about 50%. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids before exercising, have a nutritious diet, and avoid over exertion. Also, listen to your body - if you start feeling sick or nauseous, then you should stop and rest.
